| PG Deptt Urdu to organize Jashan-e- Sadat on Jan 12-13 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Jan 3: The Department of Urdu, University of Jammu in connection with the centaury celebrations of legendary Short Story writer of the sub-continent Sadat Hassan Mantoo is organizing two day Jashan-e- Sadat Hassan Mantoo on Jan 12-13.
According official spokesperson said event is being organized in collaboration with Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary society and Anjum-e-Taraqeei Urdu Hind Jammu and Kashmir.
Giving details of the Jashan-e- Sadat Hassan Mantoo the HOD Urdu Prof Shohab Inayat Malik informed that the Minister for Higher Education Abdul Gani Malik will inaugurate the occasion on Jan 12 at Prof Gain Chand Jain Seminar hall of the department while the Jammu University Vice Chancellor Prof Varun Sahni and former Vice Chancellor Kashmir University Prof Reyaz Punjabi will also be present on the occasion.
The noted literaturer of the state and former Director General Culture Jammu and Kashmir Mohd Yousf Taing would present the key note address, Prof Shohab said adding that about 40 delegates from different parts of the country and with the state is participating in the event.
Prominent who are expected to attend include Prof Majeed Muzmer, Prof Majeed Bedar, Taranum Reyaz, Prof Sageer Afraheim, Prof Nazir Ahmed Malik, Prof Shehnaz Anjum, Dr Anwar Pasha, Dr Khwaja Ikraheim, G N Khyal, Dr Ali Javeed, Dr Shahid Pervaiz, Dr Akeel Sheikh and others.
