| Hair to officiate in international cricket tri-series | | | New Delhi, Jan 13 Controversial Australian umpire Darrell Hair has been appointed to officiate in an international cricket tri-series in Mombasa involving Kenya, Scotland and Canada next week. The International Cricket Council had decided not to appoint Hair for international matches following his controversial conduct in the forfeited Oval Test between England and Pakistan in August. The decision was an outcome of a resolution adopted by the ICC Executive Board at a meeting in Mumbai in November when the Pakistan Cricket Board demanded Hair's removal. An ICC spokesperson said, Hair's current appointment was consistent with the November decision of the game's world governing body. "What the ICC had said then was that Hair would not officiate in any international assignments featuring its Full Members. The tri-series in Mombasa does not feature any ICC Full Members," ICC Media Manager Brian Murgatroyd told PTI over phone today. Former India pacer Javagal Srinath would be the match referee for the series, which will also have Ian Gould of England and Buddhi Pradhan of Nepal as on-field umpires.
