Rajouri people resent closure of entry gate to Mughalia Masjid | | | SHAFIQ MIR RAJOURI, Jan 4: The people here have strongly resented the closure of entry gate to Mughlia Masjid by the management of government higher secondary school, Rajouri. As the way to the mosque passes through the school, its management has locked the the entry gate to it. The mosque is situated inside the school premises. Up in arms against this move of the school, people have threatened to launch an agitation if the gate was not opened at the earliest. To sort out the issue, the district administration today convened a meeting but it remained inconclusive. Among others, the meeting was attended by deputy commissioner G A Khawaja and SSP Vijay Singh Sambyal. When contacted, Khawaja said no decision could be taken in the meeting today. "We are keeping an eye on the situation," he added. Locals, who were part of the meeting, said they had made it clear to the administration that they would not stop agitating till the school gate was opened for the mosque. School principal Pradeep Sharma refused to comment on the issue. He, however, said the school gate leading to the mosque was locked on the instruction of senior authorities. The school building is constructed in the premises of Mughalia Sarai which was constructed by Mughal emperor Jahangir during his journey to Kashmir.
