Jammu, Jan 4: As and when the ruling National Conference leadership makes itself available for the over due coordination committee meeting, the latter apart from some vital political issues on agenda, is likely to discuss a couple of significant matters, one of them related to the displaced community of Hindus. Almost all KP organizations and the leaders associated with the political parties are trying to push through the Temple Bill with individual and collective efforts at various levels for which the two alliance partners are required to build consensus in the coordination committee meeting.
While the Pundit organizations are pursuing hard this time for passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill in the forthcoming Budget session of Assembly, senior leader of Congress and advocate Ashok Bhan has in an open letter written to J&K PCC chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz has urged him in capacity of the chairperson of the Coordination panel to take up this matter with coalition partner and build consensus for smooth passage of the Bill in next session of legislature. "The matter is important as it concerns protection of the left over religious Shrines, endowments and properties of Hindus which are being grabbed by grabbers and anti social elements…", Dr Bhan has stated in the letter while explaining the need for preventing such acts through a rigorous legislation to be passed which is pending for over three years now.
One more issue that Dr Ashok Bhan has sought the PCC leadership to take up in the Coordination Committee meeting is with regard to a scheme of scholarship for the students of J& K State formulated by HRD ministry.Giving details , he said under the said scheme every student after passing 10 + 2 would be given full tuition fee, hostel and other incidental expenses if he or she secures admission in any institution in the Country if the family income of the student does not exceed 4.5 lacs per annum. To start with 5000 students can benefit from such scheme as envisaged, he further explained in the letter. He has also referred to another scheme,as a Job Plan scheme has been created by MHA through National Development Council. To start with 5000 jobs per year have been earmarked by paying full cost of vocational training and subsequent placement.
The senior Congress leader has sought the attention of the PCC leadership in view of what he feels that the Coalition government in the state is not adequately publicizing the efforts of the Central Government .for its liberal funding and support to the people of the State especially to the suffering and needy people of the Valley . The Congress leader has said the government , it seems is doing so for their political designs and in the process the people are suffering and deprived of what they deserve.
"These issues of sensibilities of this hounded Community calls for your personal intervention as veteran Congress Party Leader who can prevail upon the government to take measures in all such matters", he said..
