Ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh burgled from Pingla Devi temple

EARLY TIMES REPORT
UDHAMPUR, Jan 4:Burglars struck at ancient Pingla Devi temple and decamped with one idol, 8 crowns of the deity and other utensils of worth Rs one lakh.
The temple area falls under the jurisdiction of Ramnagar Police Station.
According to police reports, the thieves took away one idol, 8 Crowns of goddess and other utensils from Pingla Devi temple.
The looted idols were made of silver, Gopal Sharma priest of the temple informed.
He said that after offering evening prayers he went to sleep during when the theft was committed.
Police said that temple priest lodged an FIR with Ramnagar Police Station today naming none as accused of stealing idols. Temple management and police visited the spot today and started investigation.
Meanwhile, temple management has shown concern over the theft in temple despite police deployment and has urged the police administration to immediately arrest the culprits and recover the stolen idols and crowns.
