EJAC-K demands release in two equal instalments | Arrears of 6th Pay Commission | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 5: Employees Joint Action Committee-Kashmir (EJAC-K) today once again reiterated its demand of releasing the arrears of 6th Pay Commission in two equal instalments. Addressing a press conference, chief spokesperson of the committee, Aijaz Ahmed Khan said that keeping in view the rising prices of the essential commodities; government needs to release all the arrears, so that they are able to face the price rise. Committee also demanded starting process for the regularization of the daily wagers in the state particularly those working in Power Development Department (PDD). “Most of them have been assured repeatedly that they will be regularized in the department, but nothing has been done so far by the government. Same is the case with daily wagers working in other departments”, said Ishtiaq Ahmed Beig, another member of EJAC. He also demanded risk allowance be paid to the employees working in Forest and other departments of the government, which fall in the purview of high risk jobs. While welcoming the 7 per cent hike in the DA of government employees and pensioners, Khan said that other important demands should also be accepted immediately. “We have always taken back our agitation after the assurances of the administration, but they have always betrayed us”, he said.
