CCI demands immediate starting of work on city projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 05: Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) today demanded that government should immediately start work on the Chenab water supply scheme and flyover projects in the city. Addressing a meeting of the Chamber members, Y.V. Sharma, Chamber president said that while the people of Jammu have welcomed the announcements made by the government, but steps should be take to start immediate work on them. He said that atleast two additional flyovers are required in addition to that of Bikram Chowk to Satwari and Jewel to Canal road. “The additional projects will go a long way in making the life of the people of Jammu better”, he said. Meanwhile Sharma thanked the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for undertaking the renovation works of the Abhinav theatre which is of utmost importance. “Chamber also registers its appreciations for again resuming the work on the under construction convention center at Canal Road. This project is once again of great importance as the people of Jammu do not have any such place to do meetings and seminars”, he said. He urged the authorities to start immediate renovation works around which include repairing of roads and laying sewerage lines in the city. “We also hope that four laning of roads from Kunjwani to Satwari should be started immediately to ensure that there is free flow of traffic”, he said.
