| Srinagar-Jammu highway closed due to snowfall | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar, Jan 5 : The 300 km-long Srinagar-Jammu Highway has been closed due to snowfall and slippery road conditions, a traffic police official said here this morning.
He said the highway, linking the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, was closed early this morning following snowfall on both sides of the Jawahar tunnel.
The road, he said, has also become very slippery forcing authorities to suspend traffic to avoid any accident.
He said the road will be opened after the snow is cleared by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for maintenance of the highway.
