| RETC organizes training programme | | | Early times report
CHENANI, JANUARY 05- Government Regional, Rural Extension Training Centre (RETC) R.S. Pura, Jammu organized a training programme of ToT-III on SGSY (NRLM) for the sarpanches, Panches, field staff, NGOs, self help groups, volunteers and other line departments of block Chenani and Udhampur at Chenani.
In his inaugural address, the Principal RETC, Mr. B.A. Pandita said that “National Rural Livelihood Mission” is being launched in the country. The focus of the scheme is to reduce poverty through building grassroots institutions of the poor enabling the poor house hold to access gainful self employment and skilled wages employment opportunity resulting in appreciable increase in their income on a sustainable basis.
A large number of participants attended the programme which was mainly focused on the topics as per model devised by NIRD which include Re-visiting SGSY programme implementation during last twelve years, review of SGSY in the country and J&K state, different training method, observation of nation vide study on SGSY formation of Self Help Groups, capacity building of SHG’s etc.
The programme started by the lectures by the Guest Faculty Mr. M.I. Sadiq, Mr. R.K. Koul, BDO, Chenani and Dr. Arvind Karwani.
