Aftermath SFC employees spat: | SFC orders Inquiry into wrestle over ‘safe passage to timber smugglers’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Jan 6: Responding to the news item appeared in EARLY TIMES about the spat within the forest employees over safe passage to timber smugglers , the DFO Lakhanpur, Sunil Bharti has ordered inquiry in said incident, sources said. When contacted DFO Sunil Bharti informed that following the news reports about the spat amongst the forest employees an internal inquiry has been ordered. He said that I had ordered both the range officers of Lakhanpur and Jammu Forest Protection Force to report him about the incident . Further, he asserted that after the detailed reports will be submitted to him by both the range officers, a meeting of senior forest officials is scheduled on Monday in which penalty to erring employee will also be decided besides the effective measures against alleged elements supporting the timber smuggling. Pertinent to mention here that the a spat among the forest protection force officials took place on National Highway at Narwal Bala area when forest guards posted in the area intercepted a truck laden with above 4000 illegal willow clefts. The truck bearing registration number JK02AA/3979, which was on way to Jullandhar from Sangam, Kashmir, was intercepted by forest guards of Gama unit at Narwal on specific information and on being searched around 4000 illegal willow clefts were recovered. Meanwhile two employees appeared on the scene and one of them posed himself as DFO of Lakhanpur who even tried to lure the inspecting to lay their hands aside of the matter. However the identity of this official was later confirmed as a guard.
