Team effort helps NCC enter semis of T20

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 7: Superb display of team effort helped National Cricket Club (NCC), Jammu to crush Roshini Cricket Club by 9 wickets in a one-sided contest to enter semifinals in the T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by the International Human Rights Organisation (IHRO) at Jammu University grounds, here.

Winning the toss and electing to field first on a damp wicket, NCC restricted Roshini Club to a paltry total of 56 runs, as all the bowlers bowled with a nagging line and teasing length. Only Mithun (16) managed to cross the double figure mark, while Chotu and Sonu with 8 runs each were the other contributors. Nitin Mehra was the pick of the bowlers from NCC, who scalped 3 important wickets in his 4 overs by conceding just 14 runs, while Kuldip Kumar (Gora), Amit Billowria and Rohit Bhat claimed 2 wickets apiece.
NCC, in reply, scored the winning runs in just 6.1 overs by losing one wicket, thus won the match easily by 9 wickets. Amit Billowria top scored with unbeaten 18-ball 32 runs including 4 fours and one towering six, while Manish Dogra contributed 16 runs in 11 balls with the help of 2 boundaries and one six. Sagar was he only batsman dismissed for 5 runs. Sonu took the lone wicket to fell.
The match was officiated by Ashok Sharma, Karanjeet Singh, Chittu and Rahul Khajuria. The tournament is being organised by IHRO under the supervision of Harpreet Singh, chairman organizing committee, Karanjeet Singh and Harpreet Singh Sunny, while the tournament is being sponsored by Royal Yahama, Diamond Honda, Gulf Royal and SKT Marriage Planners and Caterers are co-sponsors.
