SRTC VRS employees reiterate demand to release dues | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 7:J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association (VREA) has strongly criticized the adamant attitude of the J&K SRTC Management and J&K Government for not clearing the dues of the employees. Addressing a press conference here today, Dev Raj Bali President VRS Union and General Secretary Surinder Singh said that J&K Government and SRTC management are not releasing their due drawn bills including leave salary, gratuity ex-gratia grant of 35 - 40% and 126 slab COLA while the bills for these have been prepared with effect from June 1, 2006 and were sent to Civil Secretariat for government approval and are still pending there. They alleged that the delay caused due to the wrong representation of SRTC Management. The VRS employees’ leaders said that they are holding demonstration and dharnas for the last two years but the management is adopting an indifferent attitude towards their demands. Bali and Singh said that VRS employees have been cheated as 126 slabs of COLA are given to in-service and latest retired SRTC employees w.e.f. 1.1.2006 but the 670 VRS employees have been ignored and are not paid the slabs.
