1/7/2012 10:07:18 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 7:Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) has hailed the government’s efforts in restoring 16 hours of power supply to the township.
Addressing a press conference here today, JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita thanked Chief Minister and Revenue Minister for their efforts in restoring 16 hours power supply to the Jagti Camp. He further thanked the migrants for their cooperation given during the struggle which compelled the higher authorities to realize the sufferings of the camp inmates due to long power curtailments.
He further alleged that a few elements are creating confusion between the higher authorities and the camp inmates for their pretty interests. He alleged that these people often speak in two languages at Government agencies, they assure that migrants will go for electric agreements and project themselves as representative of the people but while interacting with the migrants they demand that no electric tariff should be charged from Jagti migrants. He said JTC has always made its stand clear that migrant families should not be charged any electric fee till permanent rehabilitation and that no financial upliftment of migrant families has taken place by shifting them from different camps to Jagti township, rather shifting of families to Jagti has added to their woes.
While B.L. Raina, Chairman of JTC, Ravi Zutshi Convener of JTC & Vijay Koul, Vice President of JTC alleged that Jagti township which was a dream project is lacking all basic amenities and has not been made as per the standards of a township. They said condition of the residential blocks is miserable and almost all the blocks are leaking from one or the other side
They requested CM to constitute an enquire committee for entire construction work.
