| DDC convenes emergency disaster management committee meeting | | |

KATHUA, JANUARY 07- Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ms Zahida Parveen Khan today convened an emergency Disaster Management Meeting to review the preparedness of different departments and agencies amid sudden and unexpected snowfall in higher and lower reaches of the District.
Worthwhile to mention here that due to the unprecedented snow fall on Friday in Tehsil Billawar, Basohli and Bani and severe chilling weather and blockage of a number of roads the normal life of the people has been affected.
DDC impressed upon the officers of the various departments and agencies to ensure ration stock, life saving drugs, uninterrupted power supply and early restoration of effected roads by snow, heavy rain and landslides in Billawar, Basohli and Bani Tehsils.
She also directed the Medical Department to keep the medical teams ready to meet any eventuality. She directed the officers to pass instructions to the Village Level Workers to remain vigilant enough in their respective areas to help the people. She also directed revenue officers to access the loss of property if any due to heavy rain and snow fall in their respective areas and submit the same to the concerned authority.
