Modern bus terminal coming up at Nagrota
Qazi calls for proper land use management policy

Minister for Forests, Envorniment, Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammad Afzal has said that a modern bus stand for parking of buses plying on Banihal route is coming up of at a cost of Rs.6.71 crore at Khanpura Nagrota. He said that under phase-I Rs.4.03 crore are being spent on the bus stand and Rs.95 lakh on shifting of electric and water supply pipelines.
This was stated by the Minister while visiting the site today. He directed for providing parking facilities for the matadors of local routes within the said bus stand. He said that a workshop is also being constructed within the bus stand. Qazi Afzal said that for rehabilitation of the displaced people as a result of up coming bus stand survey is being conducted at Khanpura adjacent to the bus stand. He said that the colony coming up for the purpose would be provided with all basic facilities. He directed the concerned officers of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) to formulate a comprehensive project for establishment of Tube Well under Asian Development Bank funding in the proposed colony.
During his visit to Kote Bhalwal, Qazi Afzal said that 60 per cent of the land would be reserved for institutional purposes while 40 per cent of the land would be used for construction of residential houses over 550 kanals of JDA land at the said place.
While visiting Gool Gujral, he said that an Economic Weaker Sections (EWS) colony would be constructed at the said place for providing residential facilities to the weaker sections of the society.
While visiting to Narwal on the final leg of his tour today, Qazi asked the concerned authorities to adopt a proper land use management policy and up date the inventories of the lands under Srinagar Development Authority, Jammu Development Authority and J&K Housing Board so that the available land would be utilized as per requirement, demand and market value.
A team of officers including Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department Mrs. Naseema Lanker, Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority Mr. Ashok Parmar, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Mr. Vinod Gupta, Additional Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Mr. Mushtaq Sidiqi, Chief Town Planner, Jammu Mr. Malhotra and other senior officers of Housing and Urban Development, Jammu Municipal Corporation and Revenue Department were accompanied the Minister during his tour.
