NMC demands national pay policy | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 8: Stressing on formulating a ‘National Pay Policy’ through out the country, president of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today said that any pay commission setup by the Govt. of India in further should cover both central and state govt. employees and pensioners so that, its recommendations are implementation simultaneously through out the country to avoid any heart burning or agitation in any states. Addressing a largely attended NMC workers rally at Rani Park, Shastri said that he would take up this issue also with the central leadership during their visit to New Delhi. Pleading the cause of state Govt. employees and pensioners, Shastri urged the prime minister and other central leaders for providing a special package of five thousand crore to the Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir state towards payment of 6th pay commission arrears and allied benefits to the employees & pensioners in one go. Shastri said that NMC have already sent three separate memorandums to prime minister, finance minister, deputy chairman of the planning commission pleading for sanctioning this package for meeting the demands of state govt. employees and pensioners. Shastri said that with price rise and inflation with every salaried class in facing a lot of economic hardships, adding that raising income tax exemption limit from 1.80 lacs to 3.00 lacs would be genuine measures to provide some relief to them. |
