| Kashmiri mushaira held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 9: A day long Kashmiri mushaira was held at KL Saigal Hall here today which was presided over by noted poet and media advisor to the government, Farooq Nazki. The mushaira was organised by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Mubarak Gul, Advisor to state chief minister was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Gul said that holding of mushaira's and literary meets was need of the hour as such events provided opportunities for sharing of multiple thought patterns.
Complimenting the Academy for organising mushaira's on linguistic lines, Gul said that the practice should be pursued with vigour.
In his presidential address, Farooq Nazki lauded the Academy for its literary activities and said that it was because of Academy's support that litterateurs were able to express themselves freely and in an emphatic manner. Prominent among those who recited their latest poetic collections during today's mushaira included PN Shad, ML Masroof, Kalhan Koul, Brij Hali, Shahnaz Rashid, Ayaz Rasool Nazki, AK Ganjoo, RL Jowhar and Omkar Raina among others. |
