May Fair Hr. Secondary School celebrates Annual Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 9: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said annual day functions of the educational institutions are not only providing platform to the students in presenting their hidden talent, but also helping in show caseing the culture and heritage of the State. Bhalla urged upon the students to take part in co-curricular activities side by side besides to perform academically for their overall personality development. The Minister said this while addressing students, staff and parents at the annual day function of May Fair Hr. Secondary School, here this afternoon at Abhinav Theatre. Chairperson ICELA Ashok Sharma, Director, Youth Services and Sports, Jai Pal Singh, State Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides I D Soni, Deputy Director Information R S Jamwal, Chairman of the School, V K Basur were also present on the occasion. Bhalla has said Government is endeavouring a lot to eradicate illiteracy from across the State adding that Government has played a pivotal role in providing better infrastructure facility to the students at their doorsteps. He asked the teaching fraternity to put their sincere efforts in providing quality education to the students. He further stressed upon the teaching fraternity to inculcate moral values in students. On the occasion, the students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly applauded by the audience. Later, the Minister also distributed cash prizes and mementos among the 280 meritorious students who brought laurels during 2010-11 examinations. |
