Govt orders action against AD, supervisor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 9: Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Qamar Ali Akhoon today suspended a Supervisor and attached an Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution Department(CA&PD) for dereliction of duties. The minister during a surprise inspection of CA&PD and FCI Godowns at Ware House (Nehru Market), Bikram Chowk and Chattha found that the food grain at Ware House Store of CA&PD was of poor quality and not properly stored. On the inquiry, the Minister attached the Assistant Director Trade and Store besides Supervisor of Warehouse store for showing laxity in their duty while receiving the food grain supply. He ordered immediate attachment of Assistant Director with directorate and suspension of supervisor. Akhoon reiterated the commitment of the government to provide best quality and standard food grains to the consumers in every nook and corner of the state. He said that there will be no compromise on the quality of food grain being supplied to the people, while instructing the officers not to accept sub-standard food grain from any quarter. He asked the officers to at once return the load of trucks if they found the food grain of substandard quality. He directed the Director CA&PD, Jammu, to personally monitor the quality of the food grains by conducting frequent inspections of the godowns. Minister instructed the authorities that the trucks carrying sub-standard food grains should not be unloaded in any case and the food grains be returned back where from it comes. |
