CM orders introduction of air service to Marwah

KISHTWAR, Jan 9: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah during his visit to Kishtwar has ordered for immediate introduction of air service to Marwah and other far flung areas of Kishtwar District including Dachhan and Warwan and directed Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik to initiate the process for starting the air service to snow bound areas of Marwah,Warwan and Dachhan by the end of this week.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah who had a hand written note in his personal diary regarding the demand of people of Marwah area pertaining to start of air service and raised the issue during his meeting with the officials of District Administration Kishtwar in which Omar inquired about the delay in starting the air service for Marwah area.
Deputy Commissioner Kish-twar informed the Chief Minister that ministry of Defence has already sanctioned the air sorties for Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan @65 ton weight. DC Kishtwar further informed the Chief Minister that he had already written to Divisional Commissioner Jammu for seeking the permission as well as taking up the matter with defence officials for providing the chopper for lifting the passengers. On this, the Chief Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar for commencement of air service with immediate effect and at first instance arrange two sorties for Marwah while one sortie for Warwan and Dachhan each. He said that he will issue necessary directions to Divisional Commissioner Jammu for early start of air service to Marwah.
Chief Minister also desired that he will visit the Marwah and Warwan by road in May this year and directed the DC Kishtwar to complete the left over work on Inshan- Marwah road with immediate effect so that he can visit the Marwah by road. MLA Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo during the course of the meeting raised several public related issues including the expediting of work of construction on Kishtwar-Dachhan road. CM assured Kichloo that he will personally look into each and every public related issue raised by him during his today visit as well as in his past visits.
