| MLC demands early relief for snow bound areas of Doda District | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 9: Member Legislative Council Naresh Gupta has expressed grave concern over the inhospitable conditions in the parts of Doda district including Bhaderwah, Chiralla, Gandoh and Bhellsa in the backdrop of heavy snow fall experienced in the area.He said the power, water and essential commodity supply has snapped to major areas of the district putting the people of the area to lot of inconvenience. He said the district has been cut off from the rest of the state for last three days as all main as well as internal link roads are blocked due to landslides. He said closure of roads has led to acute shortage of LPG, K.Oil, ration, while hundreds of passengers of the erstwhile Doda district are stranded at Jammu - Batote, Assar on enroute to Batote Kishtwar. He also called for early start of road restoration work and arrangements by BRO for lifting the stranded passengers from various places. |
