Sikh organisations urge Governor to intervene | DGPC issue | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Jan 9: Referring to recent development 'removal of DGPC, Jammu and its replacement and urged Governor of state N N Vohra to intervene the matter. In a meeting convened by Jathedar Mohinder Singh, President SAD (B) which was presided over by S Sardool Singh in collaboration with SAD (A) and other organizations including United Sikh Council, United Sikh Front, All Parties Sikh Coordinated Committee (Kashmir) etc speakers deliberated upon the fall out with the formation of 11 member District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Jammu (DGPC-I), on Sikh psyche in general. Members in the meeting, pointed out suppressing the facts at ground level, the same vested interests, clandestinely obtained stay of Single Bench order by Double Bench (DB) at Srinagar on 28/12/11, only one day prior to holding of Nagar Kirtan on 29th for which Management Committee headed by S Dalip Singh had made elaborate arrangements. Speakers also implementation of report of the Ansari Commission, appointed to probe the brutal killings of members of Sikh Community. They appealed to Governor of J&K for his needful role in the matters related to the Sikhs. Meanwhile speakers, one after the other, condemned the contemptuous utterances of S. Baljit Singh (Balli), made in his telephonic conversation with S Rajneet Singh Vice President SAD (A) and President Tankers Union, threatening the Sikhs hailing from a particular area. Among prominent others who spoke on the occasion included S Kuldip Singh, President USF, S. Makhan Singh, S.Manmohan Singh, President GSGSS, Nanak Nagar, S. Harcharan Singh Khalsa NC Leader from Poonch, S. Devinder Singh, Secretary SAD (A) and General Secretary Tankers Union, S. Mohinder Singh, President SAD (B), S. Balbir Singh General Secretary SAD (B), S Suchwant Singh, Ex. Director Agriculture / Spokesman SAD (B), S Surinder Singh, Senior Advocate and Former President DGPC and others |
