Make justice benchmark of duty: Omar to cadets | J-K Police emerging as best force in country: Khoda | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Jan 9: Asking Police Cadets to make justice and public service benchmark of their duty, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday impressed upon them to prove worthy of the uniform and public trust they have assumed on entering the Jammu and Kashmir Police Force. Addressing the cadets at a passing out parade at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy here, the Chief Minister told them that they have become the part of one of the best police forces in the country and they have to prove their mettle as qualified and worthy members of this force. "You will witness good and bad situations. You have to take right decisions at right times to handle the situations", he told them adding that the interest of people and the State should be above every consideration to them. He said that cadets are embarking upon a huge responsibility and they have to prove worthy of the uniform they are clad in and the oath they have taken at the passing out ceremony. "Honesty should be your standard and justice basis of your performance", he told them adding that they have to come up to the expectations of people and their seniors. "People have greater expectations with J&K Police. You have to ensure their security and give them feeling of being their best friends", he added and asked them to enhance the reputation of Jammu and Kashmir Police in all fields. "I hope that the training you have been imparted in this prestigious institution would help you all along in proving your capacity", he told them expressing the hope that many among them would be leading the police force in the State in future. Congratulating the passing out cadets, the Chief Minister said that their conscience should be their judge to ascertain their day-to-day performance. "You will be facing many challenges. You should be tolerant enough to bear the public criticism. You should render your service sincerely without expecting any public reward", he said telling the cadets that their friendly approach to public concerns and handling situations with professional ability and amicably is their real reward. Speaking on the occasion, Director General Police, Kuldeep Khoda presented resume of the training given to the Police Sub-Inspector cadets in the academy and said that the syllabus taught in the academy is in the pattern of National Police Academy. He said best quality training has been given to the cadets in community policing, relief and rescue, law and order and militancy combating. Khoda said that Jammu and Kashmir Police has emerged as one of the best police forces in the country. He said J&K Police force has rendered laudable and brave service in combating militancy and dealing with law and order situations in the State. He said public service in the form of protecting life and property, maintaining tranquil situation for economic welfare, helping people in natural calamities is being rendered by the police force in a professional manner. Congratulating the cadets for entering into J&K Police Force, the DGP told them to work with professional zest and capacity and exhibit public-friendly approach universally. Minister of State for R&B, Javed Ahmad Dar, Additional Directors General of Police, K. Rajindra, Ram Lubaya, S. P. Vaid, D. R. Doley, Naveen Agarwal, IGPs, Dilbagh Singh, Raja Ajaz Ali, Arun Kumar, H. K. Lohia and various DIGs and senior police officers were present on the occasion. A batch of 489 Sub-Inspector cadets passed out today from the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy and joined the Police service. This is the largest passing out batch from the Academy so far. Sub-Inspector cadet Bashir Ahmad was awarded all round best award while the second award was bagged by Mohammad Ashraf and Ranjit Singh. In indoor category first award was taken by Riyaz Ahmad and the best sportsman award went to Vilayat Hussain Sofi. |
