Govt. following anti-farmer policy in the country: Patil | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 10: Former union minister and national general secretary, BJP Kissan Morcha, Jai Singh Rao Gaikwad Patil today said that anti-farmer policies being followed by the central government is the root cause of the present crisis faced by the country.Addressing a one-day Kissan Sammelan here, Patil said that the farmers have been deprived of their rights, but government is not taking any step to solve their issues. He said that while the farmers in hundreds have committed suicides in different parts of the country during the last five years, but no relief is being provided to them. "A person with plough who grows the crop in the field for the survival of others is himself at the verge of starvation. The same person who takes rifles and guards the nation at borders is not feeling secure today", he said. He said that it is perhaps the farmer only whose problems are more than any other class, section or community and hence it is more important that a farmer should be given preferential treatment while formulating the programmes and policies, which is the only remedy for all the ills. BJP state president Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing the Sammelan said that the motive behind holding such programmes is to have direct interaction with the farmers of the state. He said that the party is of the view that the farmers in the state are living in hilly, plain and Kandi areas and hence their problems are also different at different places. |
