| International seminar on foreign education held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 10: Sophiya Consultants, pioneers in the field of foreign education, and ANN Education Connect organized first of its kind International Seminar here today.
The Seminar was chaired by Balvinder Singh, (Head Exam Marketing and Customer Relations, British Council) and Mohit Thapliyal (Marketing Manager Examination North, British Council) gave a product brief about various examinations conducted by British Council. Many renowned educationalists from Jammu were the panelists and shared their views on the same. A few top educationists of Jammu were awarded with "Jewel of Jammu" award for their life time contribution towards Education sector in J&K.
The recipients of Jewel of Jammu Award were, Dr Arun Gupta Chairman MIER, AK Kapoor, Chairman Adarsh Education Trust and Founder of ADARSH Group of Educational Institutions, Renu Rao, Principal Army School Samba, Renu Arun, Director MIER Group of Educational institutions and Veena Handa Founder Chairman of Kulbushan Handa Educational Trust and Handa College of Education. Sophiya Consultants and ANN Education Connect are the first organization in J&K who are the platinum member of the British Council and have brought in their representatives to conduct a seminar in Jammu.
A large number of college principals, school principals, Teachers, students attended the seminar. The seminar opened up with a formal welcome of British Council Members by Kunal Anand (COO/ Sophiya Consultants). In his welcome address he said, there is indeed a matter of great privilege that the members of British Council have specially come to Jammu on the request of Sophiya Consultants to conduct such an international level seminar in Jammu. While sharing the dais with British Council Members, the educationist of Jammu put forward their views on "Benefits of Foreign Education on Economic Fibre of India".
The Key speakers who presented their views were Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director Distance Education, University of Jammu, Dr Neelu Rohmetra Director the Business School, Vikram Handa, Principal Tiny Tots Hr. Sec School and Ritesh Kapoor, Principal ASN Hr. Sec. School. |
