| NEAC launched in Model Academy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 10: Model Academy, B.C. Road under the guidelines of the Ministry of Environment and Forest, Govt. of India launched National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) in collaboration with World Wildlife Fund. Under this campaign, the school is taking up number of activities on the theme "Forest for Sustainable Livelihood".
The campaign was launched by organizing an extension lecture on the topic "Environment Awareness'' in the school.
Dr. P.L. Kaul. OSD MIER was the resource person for the lecture. He delivered an interesting, meaningful and thought provoking lecture which was attended by the students of the school. In his lecture, he gave a presentation in which he gave an insightful knowledge of the various environment issues like Components of environment, Ecosystem, Linear Food-Chain and Energy-Flow, Life sustenance and challenges. He stressed upon the need to sensitize the younger generation in order to help children grow in knowledge, skills and values, attitudes and awareness relevant to environment. In the interactive session, the learned speaker cleared the doubts of the audience and answered the queries of the students about how this environment can be made more appropriate for living in the coming times. |
