Two held for allegedly burning 'daughter-in-law'

Jammu, Jan 10: Udhampur Police solved a murder case of domestic violence of Upper Thanoa, Udhampur in which one lady was burnt alive by her parents-in-law.
The arrested have been identified namely couple as Shankar Dass son of Sadhu Ram father-in-law and Gullan Devi wife of Shankar Dass mother-in-law, police sources said.
"Based on an information regarding burning of a women namely Pinky Devi wife of Kewal Krishan resident of Upper Thanoa, Udhampur by her mother-in-law in presence of her father-in-law, a police party from P/S Udhampur led by Insp Gian Chand Sharma, (SHO) rushed to the spot, police sources said. "Subsequently, they said lady was shifted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries later on. However on her statement, police arrested accused namely Shankar Dass & Gullan Devi wife of Shankar Dass in this regard and is further investigating the matter.
In this regard, a Case FIR No. 337/2011 stands registered in Police Station Udhampur.
