| 800 blankets distributed at Reasi | | | REASI, JAN 14 With a view to provide relief and assistance to the poor, needy and physically challenged people of different areas of tehsil Reasi and Mahore of the Udhampur district including 200 families putting up at Talwara migrant camp, a function was organized by the Bershba Church, Katra at Sanjog Ghar Reasi yesterday. The Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed 800 blankets with ration and allied articles to the poor, needy and physically challenged people of tehsil Reasi and Mahore. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of head priest of christen baradari Pastor Stephen Bershba Church Katra for helping hand to all the deserving poor people of the state especially to provide financial help to the earth quake effected people of Kernah in Uri sector during October, 2005. Mr. Sharma also thanked Brother Steve and his wife Cetrecy who visited Reasi alongwith blankets and allied articles to provide help to the poor and downtrodden people of this hilly and far-flung area of the Udhampur district. Brother Steve also spoke on the occasion and asked the people to come forward for the well being and upliftment of the poor people irrespective of caste, creed and colour and provide them help as much as you can. We all are human beings and have same blood in us. To help the deserving people of all the communities of the world should be a motive of life for every men and women of the world, he added. The function was sponsored by the Light Bearer International Ministry of America. Among others, Senior Superintendent of Police, Reasi, Mr. J. L. Sharma, Tehsildar, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Councilors, prominent citizens and large number of people were present on the occasion.
