Law Minister contradicts Chief Minister | Sagar V/S Mehbooba | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Responding to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mahbooba Mufti's allegations, the Law Minister and senior National Conference leader, Ali Muhammad Sagar contradicted the Chief Minister thus conveying that NC leadership lacked coordination. In his yesterday's statement, Omar Abdullah had said that he takes PDP criticism as compliment. "It enables me to rectify my wrongs", he said. However, his Law Minister today said Mahbooba was frustrated by growing popularity of the Abdullahs and had been issuing baseless statements to malign the NC leadership. Sagar, therefore, has an uphill task to perform. Instead of criticizing Mahbooba Mufti, he better set his house in order. Sagar has today contradicted his Chief Minister and it is not a good sign for Sher-e-Kashmir's party that has been reduced to 28 seats in the legislative assembly. Interestingly while Omar believes PDP criticism enables him to rectify the wrongs, Sagar believes PDP was a stumbling block to peace and prosperity of the state. Who is , therefore, lying? Omar, Sagar or both? The message from the grass root level is equally disturbing for Sagar. The commoner believes that the NC government has failed on all fronts. "He has almost forgotten autonomy. He has yet to come clear in Haji Yusuf killing case", said a political activist. |
