| Information deptt organises debate on corruption | | |

KATHUA, Jan 12:Information Department's Basohli unit in collaboration with NGO Vishwasthali organized a debate and cultural Programme in the premises of Jawahar Navodhya Vidyalaya at Basohli today.
The topic of the debate was 'corruption, a weapon to transform regime'. About 28 students from various schools of Kathua, Jammu and Udhampur participated in the debate. While expressing their views, they said that Corruption is the main hurdle in the progress and development of the nation. Now a days corruption can be seen everywhere. It is like cancer in public life which has not become rampant and perpetuate overnight, but in due course of time. A country, where leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Lal Bhadur Shastri have taken birth and led a value- based life, is now facing the problem of corruption. They said that people have grown insatiable appetite for money in them and then go any extent to get money.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion. Tariq Hussain and party presented Dogri songs which enthralled the audience. While speaking on the occasion Chief Guest MLA Basholi Jagdish Raj Sapolia appreciated the Students for their views on the Corruption. He said that such programmes provide a platform for the budding talent.
