| BJYM celebrates Swami Vivekananda 149th birth anniversary | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 12:149th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda was today celebrated by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) at Vivekananda Chowk, Jammu.
The programme was held under the presidentship of BJYM state president Munish Sharma.
BJP National Executive Member & MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria was the chief guest on the occasion. The celebration was also attended by a large number of Yuva activists of the party in addition to State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi and Jammu Mahanagar district President Rajesh Gupta.
Addressing the Yuva activists of the party on the occasion Ashok Khajuria said that Swami Vivekanand had brought awakening and renaissance in the Hindus and made them proud of their faith. While in America attending world religious congregation he not only earned great admiration and the followers for himself but also elevated the standing and respect of the Hindu faith amongst the followers of other faiths.
Munish Sharma while addressing his Yuva followers called upon them to follow the example of Swami in their day to day life and conduct and also their thinking.
It would not be incorrect to say that Swamiji brought such an awakening in the India society that it started making moves towards attaining self-rule and independence, he added. |
