| Paryas celebrates its foundation day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12: Paryas Multipurpose Co-operative Ltd jointly with the celebration of 32nd Foundation day of Sahakar Bharti, a National recognized NGO with special consultative status in Co-operative after it got registered under Self Reliance Act 1998..
Speaking on the occasion, the speakers including Bikram Singh an executive member of society said that it is necessary for the co-operative banks and credit co-operative societies to work hard to restore and mentioned that co-operative sector came into being after General Assembly of the United Nations declared the year 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives.
"In the last few years, the co-operatives in several countries have diversified and ventured into newer areas like in rural telephone insurance, electricity distribution management and distribution of water resources, to name and few, besides continuing excellent work in area of marketing, dairy, agro processing, credit delivery to the form sector etc, speakers underlined.
But it is a matter of unfortunate that the co-operative movement in our state and as well as in our country in-spite of few states has not been able to innovate itself with the changing times as has been emerged and developed in other countries. As a consequence, co-operative movement has not been able to play an effective role to uplift and empower both financially and socially, the underprivileged segments. |
