Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12: Yesterday's arrest of a criminal along with an un-licensed imported pistol has vindicated ET report, in which, it was exclusively reported that top gangsters have started to re-unite their gang members to unleash a rein of terror among the people here in the winter capital.
As per the official handout of District Police issued on Thursday evening, it has been stated that Police averted a gang war by arresting a notorious criminal of Sanjay Sharma alias Sanju gang and recovered an imported pistol (Made in England) from his possession. The accused has been identified as Narinder Kumar alias Lucky son of Jaspal Singh resident of Palli Morh, Bari Brahamana. He was arrested at Kunjwani under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station. During frisking, police recovered a Made in England pistol from his possession.
Pertinent to mention here that ET in its January 8th, edition, published an exclusive report under heading Top gangsters 'waiting' to strike in City, Police launch manhunt. It was also reported that "top gangsters involved in separate and several cases of murder and attempt to murder have re-united their group and are waiting to unleash reign of terror among the people to extort money and indulge in other anti-social activities. They are also learnt to have managed unlicensed weapons like country made revolvers and sharp edged weapons to target their rivals."
Even while police claims of averting a gang war by arresting one criminal along with a weapon, sources in the police circle indicated that "the arrest of one criminal is just a tip of an iceberg and more efforts have to be taken to neutralize the activities of top gangsters, who are attempting to re-unite as well as rope in new faces in their respective gangs."
"Still number of criminals (the list of whom has been prepared by police department) who have gone underground are waiting to attempt attacks on their rivals," reliable sources revealed and further added that "police are on tenterhooks to collect information especially about three such gangsters. Two gangsters belong to Shakti Nagar locality while another is resident of Talab Tillo. Certain inputs have been collected by police that they are trying to rope in new faces so that when they strike, no one can easily identify them."
It is learnt that verbal directions have already been made down the line to maintain a strong vigil in their respective jurisdictions and catch hold of the said criminals
