Bovine smugglers escape, 11 bovines rescued | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Jan 13: Eleven bovine were rescued in Kathua district here today in separate incidents during drive launched against bovine smugglers while the bovine smugglers in the both incidents jumped their arrest taking advantage of darkness of night, police said. Police said that Hiranagar Police made the catch when during intervening night of 12/13, the Police Party intercepted one TATA Mobile Load carrier bearing Regd No: JK02X-6756 on its way towards Punjab at Londi Morh, Kathua from Jammu. During search of the vehicle Police recovered five Buffalos, however the accused along with driver managed to escape from spot taking benefit of darkness. A case FIR No. 03/12 U/S 279/188 RPC, 3/5 Curtly to Animal Act stands registered at Police Station Hiranagar. In another similar incident a police team from Rajbagh Police Station at Ujh Rajbagh area noticed that some persons were loading bovine animals near Ujh River. Seeing the the Police party approaching to them, all the accused persons along with drivers managed to escape from spot leaving behind one truck bearing No JK02AH-9585 and their Six animals. After preliminary enquiry it was established that these bovine animals were being smuggled from Punjab to J&K State illegally and police has registered a case against FIR No. 05/2012 u/s 188 RPC at Police Station Rajbagh. |
