Bhim Singh to Sonia: Send Omar Abdullah on 'long leave' | Asks her to save Congress from 'further humiliation, insult....' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 13: It is a matter that should have been normally raised in anger by the Congress and 'coterie' of ministers in Omar Abdullah government. But as usual they are silent, perhaps blissfully unaware of what is coming to fore .In what can be seen as raking up the cause of a rival political party and virtually seeking 'rightful place' and honour for its leaders, it is none other than the Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, NPP, who has hit out at Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and advocated for end of his innings, strongly advising UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to send Omar on a long leave, which is the only option to save the 'vestige' of her party and its 'self respect' in the state. In a roaring mode, the Panthers Party supremo also Member, NIC has dashed a letter to Sonia Gandhi, the Supremo of the Indian National Congress urged her to intervene to save the State Congress from what he has observed as ''further humiliation, insult….. and liquidation" in the State. Bhim Singh is unhappy and angry this time over the rally of Panches and Sarpanches held two days back at Parade Ground which was largely a show dominated by the Chief Minister and NC. While the Jammu based 'Panther' has questioned the 'prudence' of the Chief Minister to hold a meeting at the expense of the government in Parade Ground, Jammu by spending nearly Rs.80 lacs to convene a so-called emergency meeting of the panches and sarpanches of the state, he has also pointed out the absence of Congress and its leaders in the show, the party being main ally in the coalition government. This, he has remarked as insult and great humiliation to the Congress in general and its leadership in particular. "The Chief Minister willfully and deliberately discarded all invitations which were supposed to be sent to the Congress Legislators and coalition ministers" Bhim Singh has alleged in the letter adding that he (CM) had issued instructions to the bureaucrats organizing the meeting to keep the Congress ministers out of the fray. However, interestingly, an invitation went to Congress MP Madan Lal Sharma by mistake to attend the function. According to Bhim Singh, three senior officials in the Secretariat are facing the inquiry.Bhim has also pointed out that when Sharma when found himself alone without any Congress 'dove' in the meeting silently walked out. Delving on the main point of NC treating Congress as 'B' team despite being alliance partner, Prof. Bhim Singh has reminded Sonia Gandhi that "grandfather of Omar Abdullah had compared the Congressmen in Kashmir as 'worms in the gutter'……….His son Dr. Farooq Abdullah have been abusing the State Congress till date with one exception of Ghulam Nabi Azad for the reasons best known to both of them". Prof. Bhim Singh said that he has no love lost for the State Congress leaders. However, Congress is the only National Political Party in J&K with secular credential and a history behind. He urged Sonia Gandhi to send Omar Abdullah on a long leave keeping in view his three years 'disastrous' achievements in case she is interested to save last vestige of the Congress in the state. |
