Verbal brawl between Taj and Ashok Khajuria | Serious allegations of corruption | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 13: Civil Secretariat-seat of governance- on Wednesday, witnessed verbal brawl between two senior politicians of the rival political parties and the issue was none other than always talked about corruption. Former state BJP president and sitting Legislator from Jammu East Constituency, Ashok Khajuria, accused Flood Control, Irrigation and PHE ministry as hub of corruption. It is learnt that it all happened on Wednesday, inside the office premises of Minister for Flood Control, Irrigation and PHE, Taj Mohi-ud-Din, where BJP MLA Ashok Khajuria had gone to visit the Minister over the issue of transfer of an Engineer. According to an eyewitness, "After observing cold shouldered response from the Minister, MLA Ashok Khajuria stood and alleged that "Open loot is on. There is no one to check the sheer corruption in your (Taj Mohi-ud-Din) department. When you will not allow sincere and honest people to work at the required place and when every Engineer will have to grease the palms of those who effect the transfers and postings, how you can expect good governance." "MLA Ashok Khajuria even went ahead and leveled serious allegations of corruption," revealed sources further adding that "Khajuria was pressing for not touching the sincere officials posted in his Constituency, during the transfers." "When the concerned Minister tried to persuade the irked MLA, the latter stood and lamented that where to raise the issue of corruption when all the corrupt are sailing in the same boat. You all have made the Civil Secretariat a model of Sky Shop i.e. pay the price and get the work done automatically," shared the sources. Normally, the senior leaders of different political parties including the opposition parties do visit the Civil Secretariat with recommendations of developmental related works or complaints against those officials who does not respond positively to the public demand. If the work is done or the concerned Minister obliges, there is always good relation even if both belongs to rival parties. And if the same is not done as desired, one invites sheer criticism. Despite repeated attempts none of the concerned politicians were available for comment. |
