Th. Baldev Singh Chib remembered on his 88th birth anniversary | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 13:- Minister for Higher Education Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today said that one should be selflessly devoted for the cause of humanity, irrespective of any caste, creed or color and dedicated for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden people. The Minister was addressing an impressive function here today, organized by Baldev Institute of Management Technology and Sciences (BITMAS) Kaluchak in connection with 88thBirth Anniversary of Late Thakur Baldev Singh Chib. Chairman Chenab Education Trust and Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib presented welcome address on the occasion, while as former Minister, S. Harbans Singh, Chief Post Master, John Samuel and former V.C. BGSBU, Chowdhry Masud Ahmed were guests of honor on the occasion. Speaking about the services rendered by Late Baldev Singh for the betterment of society Mr. Malik said that Late Leader was almost like a Sanyasi and was living a simple life. He said his contribution for construction of Rajput Sabha Bhawan at Jammu and for authoring several books will be always remembered by Scholars and Intellectuals. On this occasion, a special cover in the 88th was released by Department of post J&K He said the Baldev was his affectionate brother who was having speciality in Urdu and Persian languages. He said late baldev not only served the nation as warrior but also as postmaster of his times . Besides Baldev always loved poor and destitute, Chib added. The students presented a patriotic song on the occasion. The function was also addressed by Chowdhry Masud, Varun Sahni, Principal of the college Virendar Gupta, postmaster General John Samuel S. Harban Singh. The dignitaries in their speeches paid rich tributes to the Baldev Ji and appealed for adhering strictly the principles cherished by late Reader. |
