In a meeting of prominent wrestlers of various “Akharas” of J&K, a new J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association (ISWA) was constituted. This meeting was held at Shiv Mandir Akhara, Jammu and was presided over by Vijay Pahalwan of Panj Mukhi Akhara, Jammu.
The newly constituted association includes Om Parkash president, Vijay Pahalwan, Sr. Vice President, Kulbir Singh, General Secretary and Raju Sharma, Treasurer Various issues for the upgradation and promotion of the wrestling in the state were also raised during the meeting. Concern was also expressed over the fall of wrestling standard in the state.
