DH organizes blood donation camp, awareness prog

UDHAMPUR, Jan 13: As a part of celebrations in connection with the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, an awareness programme was held. The programme was organized by the District Hospital (DH) Udhampur under the supervision of Medical Superintendent District Hospital Udhampur, Dr. Chander Parkash.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chander highlighted about the importance of youth in the progress of prosperous India and teachings of Swami Vivekananda as 12th January is the birthday of Great Indian spiritual Leader and social reformer as this day is celebrated to mark the occasion. Importance of National Youth Day was discussed and youth were motivated to become voluntary Blood Donors and follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekanand as the future of India is in their Hands. Physician Specialist, Dr. Arun Mahjan also spoke on this occasion and made aware the students of ANMT School Udhampur and staff of the hospital about the importance youth power.
A voluntary Blood Donation camp was also organized in which students of ANMT School Donated Blood. 21 Units of Blood were donated in which there 13 male and 8 female donors participated. Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Deepak Kumar and Blood Bank Officer, Dr.Narinder Nargotra, Physician Specialist , Dr.R.S.Gupta, Secretary Red Cross Society Udhampur, Dr.V.P.Sharma Nursing Supervisors Mrs.Santosh Sharma and Miss. Uma Pradhan, Supervisory Pharmacist Sh.Sudesh Nagar, supervisory Lab. Technician, Mr. Ashok Gupta, Mr.Tirath Ram and CHO , Mr. B.S.Khajuria were also present on the occasion.
