Srinagar, Jan 13 (KNS): To create a pool of skilled manpower which would generate revenue, J&K Projects Construction Corporation Ltd (JKPCC) organized a technical training workshop for its staff on Friday.
The workshop held at the JKPCC Head office imparted technical training pertaining to operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical support services to the staff of the Corporation. It is for the first time in the history of the Corporation that the management has taken keen interest to upgrade and enhance the technical ability of human resources to generate revenue.
Managing Director JKPCC, M M Gupta told KNS that the aim of the training is to develop capacity building of the staff to deliver in more profitable manner.
"We have large number of casual staff to whom we want to impart technical training and utilize their services. We want to develop a pool of skilled manpower in specific areas whose services can be utilized in operation and maintenance of mechanical support services like Heating, Ventilation and Air Condition (HVAC) System, Sewerage Treatment Plants (STP) and lifts and escalators," he told KNS.
Gupta said that the idea is to train the manpower and pass on it to other departments which would be win-win situation for the both. "We can provide cheap skilled and technical labour to other departments and also earn revenue for the Corporation," he added.
The MD said that a team of skilled staff to various departments has already been deputed to GMC Jammu, JLNM Hospital Rainawari and Excise and Taxation Building Srinagar.
The training to the employees was imparted by one of the senior managers of the Corporation.
Sources said the initiative has been taken on the directions of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who is also the chairman of the Corporation.
The employees of the Corporation have hailed the decisions and hoped it would usher JKPCC in new era of development and excellence.
