Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 14: In a communiqué to the people about the shattered human sensitivity, a play entitled 'Ardh Padav' took centre stage at the weekend theater series initiated by Rangshala theatre group of society. The play touched the human chords of existence in a most tragic way where a child suffering from a physical defection grows up mentally as a human being, but is shown care by the parents only to be in the adolescence. The central character in Ardh Padav interacts with the audience about his complete existence as a human being ideologically as well as mentally but is not taken in that perspective by the parents as well as the human beings around who see him as an abnormal child only. This imbibes a sense of disgust in the person who tries to emulate his feelings as well as his response to the environment as well as the people around very strongly but is not accepted by the society. "Ardh Padav' highlights the sequence of the events held in the course of the human development in such outlook and hence the play caught immediate attention of the audience. The play was enacted by the numero uno stage artist of the state Himanshu Darshan who portrayed the essence of the ageing character of the deformed person through his histrionics. His sense of tuning the character to complete perfection is the art that is instilled in him upto brim. The play was directed by Umesh Singh for RTGS. Speaking on the occasion, the director the play said that since due to many constraints in the theatre activities Rangshala intends to reach people through its efforts by taking up various issues at their doorsteps through the art of drama.
