Bhagat Singh Kho-Kho tourney commences

JAMMU, Jan 14: The SAI (Sports Authority of India) Club won in both men and women sections to advance in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Open Kho-Kho Tournament, orga nised by Jammu and Kashmir Kho-Kho Association at Green Field ground, here today. In mens' section, SAI Club defeated Kendriya Vidyalaya Sunjwan by an innings and two points and later in women category, the Club trounced the same KV Sunjwan team by two points. In all, six teams in men and four in women section have selected for this competition, which was declared open by president of the Association, Harbans Singh. Speaking to the participants, he highlighted the sacrifice of great hero of the national, Shaheed Bhagat Singh. Earlier, in his welcome address, Association secretary, Bhupinder
Singh Tirthi said that the state women team is also invited to participate in the Kho- Kho Open Challenge Cup to be held at Bangaluru in Karnatka.The final and valedictory function of the tournament shall take place tomorrow at 3.30 pm. Today's matches were officiated by Anil Kumar, Jagjeet Singh, Gagan Kuma , Rahi Jamwal, Sunil Kumar. Ankush Sharma, Deepak, Jasvinder Singh and Bindu Malhotra .
