Army Major allegedly kidnaps his son from Akhnoor court | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 14: An Army Major allegedly kidnapped his five years old son from court premises here in Akhnoor area today where police had brought his wife and son for presenting a challan in a missing report filed by the accused on December 28, police sources said. Sources said that the incident occurred in Munsiff Court when a police team with Major's wife and his son appeared in court this morning. Police sources said that no sooner did a police team reached on the court premises then an Army Major identified as Rajni Kant Tiwari, posted with 310 Field Regiment,Tanda, along with his subordinates came in. "Acting swiftly he snatched his son from his wife identified as Kalpana Tiwari and fled from the spot in his official Gypsy leaving policemen and locals in court completely perplexed over the incident, sources said. "Married in 2003, couple has estranged relations for the last four years and a proceeding was also held in Allahabad court, sources said further adding that accused Major on 28 December had lodged a missing report of his wife with Akhnoor Police Station." However his wife reportedly had gone to her parental home at Banaras alongwith her son namely Ruchit and was brought back by Akhnoor Police following the complaint filed to the police. The police was to present challan before court when the Major kidnapped his own son. Sources further added soon after the incident wife of Major along with her relatives in protest of kidnapping of the child by his own father blocked the Akhnoor-Poonch road outside the court demanding FIR against Major Tiwari. On getting information, SDPO Akhnoor and SHO Akhnoor reached the spot and assured action. The vehicular movement resumed after police registered a case under section 354,324 RPC against the said Major. The lady narrating her tale of woes alleged that her husband was beating and abusing her verbally for the last three years on one pretext or other making things tough for her. Meanwhile the senior officials / commandant of the concerned battalion too have been informed by police to hand over the Major to police for further legal action. |
