| JMC conducts drive against adulteration of milk | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 15: Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), S C Sawhney alongwith Municipal Veterinary Officer and Field staff conducted an extensive drive against the adulteration of milk in various parts of city. The team conducted drive at Parade, Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Panjtirthi, Bakshi Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Talab Tillo, Bohri, Akhnoor Road, Nai Basti and Gandhi Nagar areas. During the drive, the team inspected about 40 shops selling milk to check the quality and adulteration of milk and lifted about 180 Kgs of milk which was found to be of sub-standard quality and not fit for human consumption and same was destroyed on spot during the inspection of shops in these areas. The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the shopkeepers / milk vendors to sell pure and fresh milk to the people failing which stern action under the provisions of J&K Municipal Corporation Act, 2000 shall be taken against them.
