| Police seized 2600 intoxicant capsules, woman arrested | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 15: Police have recovered a haul of intoxicants from a residence at Astan Mohalla in Doda today and arrested a woman on spot. According to police sources, acting on a tip off that one Imtiyaz Ahmed Parray and his wife identified as Shazia Begum resident of Astan Mohalla, Doda are involved in the illegal business of selling intoxicants from their house, the Doda police raided the residence of Parray and arrested the latter while the former managed to escape.
Sources further said, a police team headed by Dy SP Hqrs Doda Ajaz Zargar, SHO Doda Davinder Singh accompanied by Executive Magistrate Ist Class Doda reached the spot.
The suspect Imtiyaz Parray fled from the spot on seeing the police party while his wife Shazia was arrested on spot.
A thorough search of the house was conducted in presence of Magistrate and respectable citizens of the area. During the search, about 2600 capsules of SPM-PRX (an intoxicant) and one codeine bottle was recovered from a briefcase. Police have registered a case FIR No 04/2012 under sections 8/20/21 of NDPS Act and investigation has been set into motion. Doda Police have launched a manhunt to trace the other suspect. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of SP Doda Mohammad Arif Rishu.
