| Kishtwar police sounds alert after extortion bid by man | | |

Kishtwar Jan 15: Kishtwar police today evening sounded a high alert after an unidentified person enter the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Zarger son of Amdhu Jo Zarger resident of Zarger Mohallah Hidyal Chowk Kishtwar and demanded money from him by showing something that resembled a grenade.
When contacted SDPO HQ Kishtwar Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary said that acting on a complaint, received at around 7 PM he along with SHO Kishtwar reaches the spot and started a hunt to nab the culprit. Mr. Chowdhary said that as per the reports a person of medium stature wearing Orange trouser and red color jacket with his face wrapped in muffler entered some houses in Zarger Mohallah area of Kishtwar town. He said that the person apparently look a dacoit, but cannot rule out to be a militant sympathizer. He said that the people also inform them that the person has some pointed item concealed in body saying it to be pistol. He said that the person was demanding money from the inmates of the houses he enters, but ran away towards Bunastan area of the city after the family members raised hue and cry. He said that keeping in view of statement made by the people, Kishtwar police sounded high alert and started a hunt for the culprit. Mr. Chowdhary said that be keeping the name secret, the informer shall be suitably rewarded.
