Don't be panicky, Div Com says to people

SRINAGAR, Jan 15: The Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asghar Hassan Samoon has ordered to Health Officer SMC and Public Analyst to collect samples of milk to check for adulteration. It was informed that a misbranded Taaza sample was found adulterated and the unit was sealed by the Health Officer SMC on December 17, 2011 and prosecution launched.
The samples of milk from Khyber, Zam Zam and JKMPCL Cheshmashahi brand name Snow Cap, have been sent for testing and the results are awaited. 8 samples of loose milk were found adulterated with water and prosecution initiated. Around 5000 litres of loose milk from local vendors was found not conforming to standards and destroyed on spot in the last two months. The Divisional Commissioner while speaking to media said that people should not worry as the Divisional Administration has geared up and all possible measures will be taken to supply purified milk to the general public.
