Niaz demands amenities for stranded passengers | | | Early Times Report Bhadarwah, Jan 15: Former minister and MLA Bhadarwah Mohd Sharief Niaz in a statement has urged the Government for providing necessary facilities like free lodging, food and medicines to the stranded passengers at Jammu, Udhampur, Kudh, Patnitop, Batote, Ramban, Banihal and Doda and added that the concerned District administration be directed to provide basic facilities to passengers as and it was done in many past times in the period of natural calamities. Niaz demanded that the stranded passengers be air lifted to their destination with the help of army and air force so that they may not suffer more. He demanded chopper service be provided to the hilly areas for shifting of patients to the respective hospitals for providing essential commodities such as Kerosene oil, cooking Gas, medicine, Ration in the erstwhile District Doda which has been cut off from the rest of the state due to heavy snowfall, as a result the road connecting to this area has been blocked. The people of this area are facing a lot of hardship for want of the essential commodities. Niaz has appealed to the Chief Minister for taking immediate steps for restoration of road and electricity which has been snapped since last week. |
