Bhalla Kick starts Rs. 45 lakh dev works | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 15: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla has called upon the people to cooperate with executing agencies in completing the development works well in time adding that Government is committed to provide all civic amenities like electricity, health, education, better sewerage, safe drinking water, roads besides lanes and drains to slum dwellers at par with urban pockets. This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering at Rajiv Nagar after launching Rs. 45 lakh development works like construction of lanes and deep drains at Rajiv Nagar, Ambika Vihar and Nai Basti besides modernization on Park at Dilli in Channi, here today. The Minister asked the officers to ensure regular power supply in metered areas. He asked the locals to use electricity judiciously and do not get illegal power connections to save power for themselves. He asked the engineers to install poles including wires in the uncovered areas of the Ambika Vihar and Dilli. The Minister said an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in implementation of developmental schemes. He said coalition Government headed by Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has introduced various reformative measures to extend improved basic amenities to the people of the State especially those living in rural and urban pockets. |
