| R-Day arrangements finalized | | Meritorious students in sports to be felicitated | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Jan, 16:- The meritorious students of Udhampur district who have excelled in different sports events at National Level would be felicitated by the district administration on Republic Day Function- 2012.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of district officers to finalize the arrangements for the celebration of Republic Day function-2012 in a befitting manner at Udhampur here today. Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr P.K. Pole presided over the meeting.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Rajinder Singh, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Chief Education Officer, Chief Medical Officer, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, District Heads of various departments and Schools and representative of District Police were present in the meeting.
It was divulged in the meeting that the day would start with playing of Shehnai Vadan from 6.30 a.m. at stipulated places by the District Information Centre, followed by flag hoisting by VIP at PG Degree College for Boys, Udhampur and march past by the contingents of District Police, SKPA, Forest Protection Force, NCC and school children of various educational institutions. Cultural programmes and physical display by school students would also be presented on the occasion.
The meeting also held threadbare discussions on various arrangements related to the smooth conduct of the function like seating, barricading, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first- aid, security, transport, traffic regulations and refreshment to students participating in the National function.
The DC directed the officers concerned to ensure better coordination for making effective arrangements pertaining to their departments.
He exhorted upon the District heads to issue a circular to the subordinate officers and employees for ensuring their presence along with family members on the auspicious day.
At Home would also be hosted by the District Administration in the town during evening hours, the meeting decided. |
